A meeting between Sun Media and the Philippine Ambassador to Singapore highlighted growing bilateral engagement and set the stage for expanded editorial coverage on the Philippines

Ms Nomita Dhar, Editor-in-Chief of Sun Media, recently paid a courtesy call on H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig, the Ambassador of the Philippines to Singapore. During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed strong interest in strengthening collaboration with Sun Media, particularly in the area of diplomatic and regional affairs coverage.

As part of the exchange, Ambassador Macaraig shared insights into the Philippines’ current priorities and presented a book titled Making a Mark in the Little Red Dot, offering reflections on the country’s diplomatic footprint and engagement in Singapore. In 2026, Philippines served as the Chair of ASEAN, placing the country at the forefront of regional dialogue, policy coordination, and multilateral cooperation. During its chairmanship, Philippines played a key role in steering discussions on ASEAN unity, economic resilience, and regional stability, while facilitating high-level meetings and initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation among member states and enhancing ASEAN’s collective response to regional and global challenges.
