Meeting explored market access for Thai tourism businesses and carbon management solutions.
Ambassador H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee welcomed a delegation from the Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association (TEATA), led by its Vice President, Dr. Parichat Suntararak, in Singapore on 20 October 2026. The meeting focused on supporting Thai tourism micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in accessing the Singapore market and addressing sustainability requirements, including through the use of carbon management technology.
The TEATA delegation visited Singapore to participate in ITB Asia 2026, a travel trade show. During the meeting, Ambassador Waraphannee and the delegation discussed approaches to helping Thai tourism businesses enhance their capabilities and establish a presence in the Singapore market.

The discussions centred on the needs of Thai tourism MSMEs seeking to enter the market, with attention to capacity development and the ability to meet local sustainability expectations. The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss how Thai tourism entrepreneurs could prepare their businesses for market requirements while exploring opportunities in Singapore’s travel and tourism sector.
Another key topic was the ZERO CARBON application, a digital tool designed to help users measure, reduce and offset emissions associated with events through a single platform. The application can calculate greenhouse gas emissions and directly issue Carbon Neutral certificates for events.
The system was discussed in the context of supporting Thai tourism entrepreneurs as they respond to growing demand for sustainability practices in the Singapore market. By providing a means of calculating event-related emissions and obtaining carbon neutrality certification, the application offers a tool for businesses seeking to incorporate carbon management into their operations and events.

The meeting highlighted two areas of discussion: improving market access for Thai tourism MSMEs and exploring practical approaches to sustainability through digital solutions. Both topics were relevant to Thai businesses seeking to engage with Singapore’s tourism industry, particularly in relation to market readiness and environmental considerations.
The engagement took place during the TEATA delegation’s visit to Singapore for ITB Asia 2026, providing a setting to discuss the commercial and sustainability considerations facing Thai tourism businesses interested in the Singapore market.
