Creative activities encouraged reflection, emotional well-being and connection among colleagues ahead of World Mental Health Day.
The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) organised its Mental Wellness Day on 9 October 2026, ahead of World Mental Health Day on 10 October, to encourage colleagues to prioritise mental well-being through creative activities and personal reflection. The session featured drawing and air-dry clay activities designed to help participants reflect on happy memories, appreciate their loved ones and reconnect with experiences that brought them comfort and happiness.
The event provided colleagues with an opportunity to pause from their daily responsibilities and take part in activities focused on creativity, reflection and personal well-being. Through drawing and working with air-dry clay, participants were encouraged to express themselves creatively while reflecting on the people and moments that contributed to their sense of calm and happiness.
The activities also encouraged participants to consider the importance of personal connections and positive experiences in supporting their mental wellness. By reflecting on happy memories and loved ones, colleagues could take time to appreciate aspects of their lives that provided comfort and emotional support.
SMF’s Mental Wellness Day highlighted the value of making time for personal well-being amid busy schedules and everyday commitments. The session encouraged colleagues to slow down, engage in creative expression and recognise the activities and experiences that helped them recharge.
The initiative also drew attention to the role of workplace support in promoting mental wellness. Creating opportunities for employees to reflect, express themselves and connect with colleagues can contribute to a supportive working environment where individuals feel cared for.
World Mental Health Day is observed annually on 10 October to raise awareness of mental health and the importance of well-being. In conjunction with the occasion, SMF encouraged colleagues to continue prioritising their mental health, looking out for one another and contributing to a workplace where everyone felt supported.
Through its Mental Wellness Day activities, SMF highlighted the importance of incorporating moments of reflection and self-care into daily life. The session served as a reminder that caring for mental well-being begins with making time for oneself and recognising the people, experiences and moments that bring comfort and joy.
