Singapore’s Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Seah Kian Peng, attended the 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit in New Delhi from October 12 to 14, 2023, focusing on sustainable energy transitions and global cooperation.
Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Seah Kian Peng, represented Singapore at the 9th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) held in New Delhi from October 12 to 14, 2023. The invitation to participate was extended by the host country, India. Singapore was an honored guest at this summit hosted by the Parliament of India.
During the three-day summit, Mr. Seah engaged with counterparts and parliamentarians from the G20 nations, along with representatives from non-G20 countries. They shared their legislative experiences and explored potential strategies for inter-parliamentary collaboration in addressing global challenges. The summit’s theme, “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” aimed to foster consensus and devise effective policies to encourage sustainable and inclusive growth worldwide, while also ensuring equity, inclusiveness, and peace. This was achieved through four high-level sessions.
On October 13, 2023, Mr. Seah delivered a speech on “Sustainable Energy Transitions: Gateways to a Green Future.” Additionally, he held bilateral meetings with parliamentary counterparts from various participating countries.
