Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Richard Marles met with Singapore’s Defence Minister Dr. Ng Eng Hen, reaffirming the strong bilateral defence relationship and discussing geopolitical developments.

Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles, is visiting Singapore to attend the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD). This evening, he met with Minister for Defence Dr. Ng Eng Hen.

During their meeting, Mr. Marles and Dr. Ng reaffirmed the close and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Australia. They also exchanged views on current geopolitical developments.

Mr. Marles is accompanied by a delegation of senior Australian officials, including the Australian Chief of the Defence Force General Angus Campbell and Secretary of the Department of Defence Greg Moriarty. As part of his visit, Mr. Marles also called on Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
