Singapore, 18 December 2024 – Tune Protect Group Berhad (Tune Protect) and AirAsia Aviation Group Limited (AirAsia) have jointly introduced the AirAsia Comprehensive Travel PLUS in Singapore. The enhanced travel insurance includes a groundbreaking Cashless Hospital Admission service for AirAsia flights departing from Singapore, simplifying access to emergency medical care abroad.

This new feature comes at no extra cost and integrates seamlessly with the AirAsia Comprehensive Travel PLUS plan. Travellers can purchase the plan through various AirAsia booking platforms, including the airasia MOVE app, with premiums starting at SGD28.60 for return trips.

“This feature comes at an opportune time as travellers embark on their end-of-year holidays,” said Janet Chin, Chief Executive Officer of Tune Protect Re. “The AirAsia Comprehensive Travel PLUS eliminates the financial burden of hospital admissions, ensuring a smooth travel experience for our customers.”

The insurance plan covers emergency medical illness, injury, accidents, and hospitalisation without requiring upfront payments. Customers simply need to contact the Tune Protect-AirAsia Emergency Hotline for verification and assistance. A coverage letter is issued to the medical provider, ensuring uninterrupted care without the need for out-of-pocket expenses.

Paul Carroll, Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia Aviation Group, highlighted the broader implications of the partnership: “This initiative enriches our guests’ travel experience and provides peace of mind. Whether departing from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, or Indonesia, travellers can now explore confidently, knowing they are covered for emergencies abroad.”

Beyond Singapore, the Cashless Hospital Admission service is available for travellers departing from Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, with plans to expand to Vietnam and other markets soon.

In addition to medical benefits, the AirAsia Comprehensive Travel PLUS offers coverage for trip cancellations, flight delays, lost or damaged baggage, and loss of personal money or travel documents. The plan includes access to over 7,500 hospitals worldwide through Europ Assistance, redefining the travel experience by combining convenience and comprehensive insurance solutions.
