Malaysia unveils its ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 theme and priorities, setting the stage for a united and future-oriented ASEAN Community.

Malaysia officially launched the website for its ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, heralding a new era of regional cooperation under the theme ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability.’ The announcement comes as ASEAN celebrates the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN Community, guided by the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and its Blueprints.

The launch, marking the lead-up to the 46th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, will culminate in the adoption of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. The comprehensive plan outlines a bold trajectory for the region, building on a decade of achievements in fostering peace, stability, and prosperity.

As Chair, Malaysia has identified three key priorities:

  1. Strengthening ASEAN Centrality through dialogue, diplomacy, and economic partnerships.
  2. Enhancing Intra-ASEAN Trade and Investment, leveraging science, technology, and innovation for digital transformation.
  3. Focusing on Inclusivity and Sustainability to bridge development gaps, improve living standards, and address climate change.

These efforts will embed inclusivity and sustainability across ASEAN’s three pillars of cooperation, reinforcing shared progress and ensuring no one is left behind. Malaysia’s leadership emphasises the interdependence of these values, positioning ASEAN for a resilient and forward-thinking future.
