Singapore’s fifth wildlife park, Rainforest Wild Asia, officially opens its doors, offering an immersive experience into Southeast Asia’s rich biodiversity.

SINGAPORE, 12 March 2025 – The highly anticipated Rainforest Wild Asia has officially opened to the public, adding a new dimension to Singapore’s vibrant ecotourism landscape. Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Ms Grace Fu, officiated the launch, welcoming the first visitors who embarked on a thrilling rainforest adventure.

Mike Barclay, Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, highlighted the park’s unique features, stating, “Rainforest Wild Asia captures the essence of a rainforest adventure, allowing visitors to fully engage with nature and discover wildlife in unexpected corners. With multi-layered experiences, guests can explore a Southeast Asian rainforest from the tree canopy to the forest floor and even underground cave chambers.”

Visitors can explore the park through universally designed walkways, challenging forest treks, or guided adventure experiences. The opening marks a significant milestone in the transformation of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, with expectations to attract 900,000 guests in the first year.

Minister Fu congratulated Mandai Wildlife Group on the first successful birth of a Philippine spotted deer, a new-to-Singapore species showcased in the park’s Canopy zone. This species, found only in the Visayan Islands of the Philippines, is classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List, highlighting the park’s contribution to wildlife conservation and biodiversity protection.
