Singapore is set to make history as the first Southeast Asian nation to host the World Aquatics Championships, scheduled from 11 July to 3 August 2025. The event will take place at the Singapore Sports Hub and Sentosa, welcoming over 2,500 elite athletes from more than 200 national federations.

The 22nd edition of the Championships will showcase six aquatic sports: swimming, water polo, diving, artistic swimming, open water swimming, and high diving. This premier event, organized by World Aquatics, is expected to draw significant international attention and bolster Singapore’s reputation as a global sports hub.

In addition to the main Championships, Singapore will also host the World Aquatics Masters Championships from 26 July to 22 August 2025. This event is open to international and local participants aged 25 and above, featuring five aquatic sports and anticipating approximately 6,000 competitors.

The venues for these events include the Singapore Sports Hub, Sentosa, and the OCBC Aquatic Centre. These state-of-the-art facilities are expected to provide an exceptional experience for both athletes and spectators.

Singapore’s hosting of these Championships aligns with the nation’s SG60 celebrations, marking 60 years of independence. The events are anticipated to inspire national pride and encourage community engagement through sports.
