JAKARTA – Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, presented the 2025 ASEAN Maybank Scholarship Awards to ten exceptional young recipients from various ASEAN Member States.

The symbolic handover took place on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Day celebration, underscoring the region’s commitment to nurturing future leaders. The initiative was made possible through the support of the Maybank Foundation, an ASEAN-accredited entity recognised for its contributions to education and community development.

In his remarks, Dr Kao commended the scholars for their dedication and academic excellence, highlighting the role of education in strengthening ASEAN’s human capital. He also acknowledged Maybank Foundation’s longstanding partnership in empowering youth and fostering regional cooperation.

The awards aim to provide promising students with access to quality higher education, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to contribute meaningfully to their home countries and the wider ASEAN community.
