The Singapore Armed Forces celebrated the graduation of 1,086 cadets at Pasir Laba Camp, marking their transition into roles as Specialists and Military Experts.
A total of 1,086 cadets graduated as Specialists and Military Experts of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) at the 64th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade held at Pasir Laba Camp this evening.
Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth, and for Manpower, Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash, inspected the parade. Among the graduands were 892 from the Singapore Army, 81 from the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), 49 from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), and 64 from the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS).
In his address, Mr Dinesh emphasised the critical role of specialists amidst the SAF’s technological transformation. He noted that while advanced technology enhances operational capability, it is ultimately the leadership, commitment and resolve of soldiers that make the difference on the ground.
Mr Dinesh also highlighted the importance of Total Defence and National Service in safeguarding Singapore. He reiterated that military defence is anchored in National Service and called on Singaporeans to continue supporting servicemen, learning new skills, and guarding against disinformation and subversion.
The graduation parade marked the end of a 22-week Specialist Cadet Course, during which cadets trained under rigorous and realistic conditions to sharpen their vocational expertise. The newly appointed Specialists and Military Experts will now assume command, training, and staff responsibilities across the SAF. The event was attended by senior SAF commanders, as well as families and friends of the graduands.
