A reception in Singapore highlights the enduring friendship and forward-looking partnership between China and Singapore.

Singapore, 30 September 2025 — The Chinese Embassy in Singapore hosted a reception at The Ritz-Carlton to commemorate two significant milestones: the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore. The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, representatives from Chinese institutions, and friends from all walks of life in Singapore.

In his address, Ambassador Cao Zhongming reflected on China’s achievements and outlined the country’s vision for the future. He shared that the upcoming Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China will set forth the blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan, charting the path for continued progress through Chinese-style modernisation.

“Over the past 35 years, since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Singapore, high-quality and forward-looking development have become the hallmarks of our relationship,” said Ambassador Cao. “We look forward to embarking on this exciting next chapter together, breaking new ground and reaching new heights in cooperation.”

Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng, who graced the occasion as Guest of Honour, extended warm congratulations to China on its National Day. He lauded China’s remarkable progress, noting, “China’s achievements over the past seven decades demonstrate the resilience, foresight, and striving spirit of the Chinese people. Singapore looks forward to deepening cooperation with China, advancing our long-term partnership, and promoting common prosperity and development.”

The evening featured cultural performances and networking among guests, underscoring the strength of people-to-people connections and the shared aspirations of both nations. The celebration not only honoured shared history but also reaffirmed a commitment to future collaboration in areas such as green development, innovation, and regional integration.
