Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, undertook an official visit to Singapore from 12 to 13 November 2025. The visit underscored the longstanding relationship between Singapore and the United Kingdom, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

On 12 November, The Princess Royal called on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana. Both sides reaffirmed the deep and multifaceted ties shared by Singapore and the UK, including strong people-to-people links. They also exchanged views on key areas of mutual interest such as sustainability, biodiversity, education, and skills development.

The following day, The Princess Royal met Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong at the Istana. They welcomed the milestone anniversary of diplomatic relations and reiterated the strength of bilateral cooperation in trade, defence, and security. Both also discussed ways to deepen collaboration in new and emerging domains such as innovation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and research and development.

As part of her programme, The Princess Royal attended an orchid-naming ceremony at the Singapore Botanic Gardens on 12 November. A new orchid hybrid, Dendrobium Anne, was named in her honour, continuing Singapore’s tradition of orchid diplomacy.

The two-day visit reflected the shared commitment of Singapore and the United Kingdom to further strengthen their partnership and explore new avenues of cooperation as both countries look towards future global challenges and opportunities.
