The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) delivered humanitarian assistance to Thailand after cyclonic storms and heavy monsoon rains caused severe flooding in Hat Yai, resulting in extensive damage and casualties. The aid response reflected Singapore’s readiness to support regional partners during times of crisis.

The relief effort was coordinated by the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre (Changi RHCC). More than seven tonnes of humanitarian supplies were transported to Thailand on board a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 transport aircraft. The consignment consisted of essential items including food, drinking water, medical supplies and hygiene products.

The deployment aimed to address the immediate needs of affected communities and support ongoing emergency operations on the ground. The SAF’s rapid mobilisation demonstrated Singapore’s commitment to contributing to regional disaster relief and complementing Thailand’s national response efforts.

Singapore and Thailand have long maintained close defence relations, and this humanitarian mission further underscored the strong partnership between the two countries. The two defence establishments continue to cooperate regularly through exercises, exchanges and coordinated initiatives in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
