Members of the diplomatic community gathered at the Shangri-La Singapore to honour outgoing envoys and welcome newly arrived diplomats
The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Agustín García-López Loaeza, together with Mdm Katya Anaya de la Fuente, hosted a Diplomatic Farewell Reception on 13 April 2026 at the Shangri-La Singapore.
The reception paid tribute to the Ambassador of Mongolia, Enkhbayar Sosorbaram, and the Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, Allaster Cox, in recognition of their contributions during their diplomatic postings in Singapore.
Held at The State Room of the Shangri-La Singapore, the event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, government representatives, and invited guests for an occasion marked by warm exchanges and appreciation of the envoys’ service. The event highlighted the strong spirit of cooperation and friendship that characterises the diplomatic community based in Singapore.
The reception also served as an opportunity to welcome newly appointed heads of mission who have recently arrived in Singapore, including ambassadors from Colombia; H.E. Margarita Eliana Manjarrez Herrera, Indonesia; H.E. Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, Saudi Arabia; H.E. Mohammad Abdullah S Alghamdi, and Qatar; H.E. Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Malki Al Jehani. Their presence reflected the continued renewal and diversity of Singapore’s diplomatic community, as new envoys begin their assignments and strengthen ties with the host country and fellow diplomatic representatives.
