Discussion highlights ASEAN 2045 vision, regional resilience and strengthening ASEAN’s external partnerships
The Secretary-General of ASEAN, Kao Kim Hourn, hosted a one-on-one luncheon in honour of Sarah Al Bakri Devadason, Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s stewardship of ASEAN in 2025, including its leadership of the Committee of Permanent Representatives and its contributions to advancing key ASEAN priorities.
Both sides exchanged views on the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, strengthening ASEAN’s external relations, and enhancing regional resilience in response to evolving geopolitical and geoeconomic developments. The discussion underscored the importance of continued cooperation and coordination among ASEAN Member States to support the organisation’s long-term vision and regional stability.
