
More than 350 participants gathered in Singapore to mark the International Day of Yoga and highlight the theme of healthy ageing through yoga practice
The International Day of Yoga was celebrated at Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, bringing together more than 350 yoga enthusiasts for activities focused on the practice and principles of yoga. The event highlighted the role of yoga in promoting harmony between breath, body and mind, as well as the journey towards holistic well-being.

The celebration is a part of an outreach and cultural engagement initiative organised to commemorate the annual observance of the International Day of Yoga. Participants from across the community attended the event, which focused on this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”. The programme emphasised the contribution of yoga to maintaining strength, balance and well-being throughout different stages of life.

Mr Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Transport, as well as Mayor of the North East District, attended the event as Guest of Honour.

The occasion also recognised the achievements of Singapore’s team at the 1st World Yogasana Sports Championship, which was held in Ahmedabad, India, from 4 to 8 June 2026. The High Commission congratulated the team on its performance at the international competition.
