The meeting focused on ongoing cooperation and future collaboration between ASEAN and the United Nations Development Programme regarding regional development priorities.
Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn, met with Ms Kanni Wignaraja, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the ongoing bilateral relationship and exchange views on areas of future cooperation between ASEAN and UNDP.
During the meeting, both sides discussed cooperation in areas including sustainable development, the blue economy, sustainable finance, innovation, and regional resilience. They also explored opportunities to further strengthen the ASEAN–UNDP partnership in support of inclusive and sustainable growth across the region.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming the value of continued engagement and cooperation, with ASEAN and UNDP expected to maintain close collaboration on regional priorities in the years ahead.
