
The Indonesian restaurant chain inaugurated its first outlet in Singapore, expanding the presence of Indonesian cuisine in the city-state.
Sederhana Group officially opened its first restaurant in Singapore during an inauguration ceremony held in Kampong Glam on 14 June 2026. The opening marked the company’s expansion into Singapore and its effort to introduce Indonesian cuisine to international audiences.
The event was attended by Indonesia’s Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore, Thomas Ardian Siregar, Sederhana Group founders H. Bustamam and Hj. Fatimah, Singapore Member of Parliament Wan Rizal, as well as business representatives, community leaders and members of the Indonesian diaspora.

In his remarks, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore emphasised the importance of traditional cuisine in nurturing mutual understanding and fostering closer relations among people from different cultural backgrounds.
The opening of the restaurant reflected efforts to promote Indonesia’s culinary heritage internationally while contributing to social, cultural and economic links between Indonesia and Singapore through gastrodiplomacy.
