Ambassador Waraphannee Damrongmanee outlined priorities for Thailand-Singapore cooperation and held a series of meetings with Thai agencies in Singapore during her first week in office.
H.E. Mrs Waraphannee Damrongmanee assumed her duties as Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore on 18 June 2026, succeeding Ambassador Ureerat Chareontoh. In a message issued by the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore, she highlighted opportunities to further strengthen Thailand-Singapore cooperation in areas including trade, investment, security, human resource development, innovation, education, and the digital economy.
The Ambassador noted that Thailand and Singapore had recently marked the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations through activities involving government agencies, the private sector, and people-to-people exchanges. She also underscored the importance of promoting Thailand’s soft power, quality tourism, and cultural engagement, while supporting exchanges in knowledge, technology, and education between institutions in both countries.

As part of her initial engagements, Ambassador Waraphannee welcomed Mrs Natama Koonpol, Director of the Thai Trade Centre in Singapore, and Ms Yatika Kaewborisoot, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Singapore Office. Discussions focused on strategies to promote bilateral trade, investment, and tourism, including efforts to support Thai exports, attract investment, strengthen economic cooperation, and encourage more Singaporean visitors to Thailand.

On 22 June 2026, Ambassador Waraphannee also chaired the Team Thailand Executive Board Meeting at the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore. During the meeting, she outlined policy priorities centred on “People-centred Diplomacy”, with an emphasis on safeguarding the interests of Thai citizens and businesses, enhancing services for the Thai community, and advancing Thailand-Singapore relations through closer inter-agency cooperation.
