On 25 June 2026, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore hosted its Second Quarter Ugnayan: Bagong Pilipinas Townhall Meeting, bringing together leaders and representatives of Filipino community organisations across Singapore. Held as part of the Embassy’s regular engagement with the Filipino diaspora, the quarterly gathering served as a platform to strengthen collaboration, share important updates, and foster closer ties between the Embassy and the Filipino community.

The meeting featured presentations from key Philippine government agencies serving overseas Filipinos, including the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Singapore, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Social Security System (SSS), and Pag-IBIG Fund. Representatives provided updates on government programmes and services available to Filipinos living and working in Singapore, ensuring community leaders remain informed and equipped to assist their respective organisations.

Participants also received a briefing on the registration of Filipino community organisations under Singapore’s Registry of Societies (ROS), highlighting regulatory requirements and best practices for community groups operating in the city-state. In addition, the Embassy presented an overview of upcoming community events and activities, encouraging continued participation and collaboration among Filipino organisations throughout the year.

Philippine Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig joined Embassy officials and members of the Filipino community during the meeting. The occasion also included a brief tribute to Consul Jhullie Anne Beniahan, who will conclude her six-year tour of duty in Singapore in July, recognising her dedicated service to the Filipino community. The Embassy likewise welcomed Consul Atty. Teddy Edmund Pavon, who recently joined the mission and will assume responsibility for the Political and Economic Section, marking a new chapter in the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Philippine-Singapore relations and community engagement.
