The inaugural Singapore-Sabah Business Roundtable 2026 brought together Malaysian and Singaporean business leaders to explore investment opportunities and strengthen commercial ties. The discussion highlighted Sabah’s growing potential in emerging sectors, including the blue economy, sustainable agribusiness, renewable energy, digital innovation and oil and gas services.
The inaugural Singapore-Sabah Business Roundtable 2026 brought together business leaders, industry stakeholders and government representatives to explore new avenues for economic cooperation between Singapore and Sabah. Held at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, on 14 August 2026, the landmark event provided a platform to discuss investment opportunities and strengthen business connections between the two markets.
The event was officially graced by Datuk Ewon Benedick, Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET), alongside H.E. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore. Their participation underscored the importance placed on deepening economic and commercial relations between Sabah and Singapore.
Organised by the Sabah Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STTOS), the Roundtable welcomed representatives from around 50 prominent companies and industry stakeholders from Singapore. The gathering encouraged meaningful exchanges between the private sector and government representatives, while providing participants with greater insight into Sabah’s economic landscape and its potential as an investment destination.
Discussions focused on several emerging sectors with significant growth potential, including the blue economy, sustainable agribusiness, renewable energy, digital innovation, and the oil and gas services and equipment (OGSE) market. These sectors reflect Sabah’s diverse economic strengths and opportunities for businesses seeking to participate in sustainable development, technological advancement and new regional value chains.
The Singapore-Sabah Business Roundtable 2026 marked an important step towards fostering stronger business-to-business connections and expanding economic collaboration. By bringing together key stakeholders from both sides, the initiative highlighted Sabah’s investment potential while creating opportunities for Singaporean businesses to explore partnerships and contribute to the state’s continued economic development.
