Al-Baha Region is home to 105 forests covering an estimated 221,000 hectares
Forests and vegetation cover are among Al-Baha Region’s most prominent natural and environmental features, supported by its diverse topography, varying elevations and distinct environments stretching from the Sarawat Mountains to the Tihama coastal plain.
Director General of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) in Al-Baha Region Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Qudwa revealed that the region has 105 forests covering an estimated 221,000 hectares.
He noted that the region’s vegetation includes several plant communities, most notably juniper, acacia, tamarisk and acacia tortilis.
