
Kuwait’s Acting Chargé d’Affaires joined diplomats, academics and maritime specialists at the launch held at the National University of Singapore.
The Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait to Singapore, Mohammed Saud Al-Wuqayan, attended the launch of “The Straits of Malacca and Singapore: A Model for the World” on 24 August 2026 at the National University of Singapore Library.
The event was attended by Guest of Honour Mr. Jeffrey Siow, Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, as well as ambassadors accredited to Singapore, academics, experts and specialists in international law and maritime affairs.

The book, co-edited by Professor Tommy Koh, Professor Robert Beckman, Dr. Nilufer Oral and Dr. Tara Davenport, examined the historical, legal, economic, security and environmental dimensions of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore. It also covered cooperation among Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in managing the straits, promoting navigational safety and protecting the marine environment.
