The agreement covered Ilimanu marble for Marina Square and plans to promote Timor-Leste natural stone through a proposed Singapore platform.
EMG-MRT Ilimanu, Lda., Murak Rai Timor, E.P. (MRT) and VICO Construction Pte Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 28 August 2026 at the Marina Square Sales Gallery in Dili. The agreement focused on the future supply and application of Ilimanu marble for Marina Square and the proposed Singapore Timor-Leste Stone Promotion Center.
Under the framework, EMG-MRT would provide marble samples, product information and technical support, while VICO would coordinate with the Marina Square project team on applications, specifications and future supply requirements. The proposed centre would showcase Ilimanu marble and other suitable Timor-Leste natural stone products to industry partners, with the aim of reaching Singapore, ASEAN and international markets.
Mr. Victor Lei, Chairman and CEO of EMG-MRT Ilimanu, described Marina Square as a potential demonstration project for Ilimanu marble and Singapore as a gateway for Timor-Leste stone to wider markets.
Preparations were expected to begin immediately with a review of marble samples for Marina Square and development of the proposed Singapore promotion platform.
