Thailand’s Attorney-General, Mr. Ithiporn Kaewtip, met with Thailand’s Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, during a dinner held ahead of the Chief Legal Advisors Forum (CLAF) 2026. The discussions focused on international law, investor-State dispute settlement and strengthening legal cooperation between Thailand and Singapore.
Mr. Ithiporn Kaewtip, Attorney-General of Thailand, and his delegation visited the Thai Ambassador’s Residence in Singapore on 25 August 2026, at the invitation of H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore. The dinner was held in conjunction with the delegation’s visit to Singapore to attend the Chief Legal Advisors Forum (CLAF) 2026.
The CLAF 2026 was held on 26–27 August at Shangri-La Hotel Singapore under the theme “States and Investment Disputes – What lies ahead.” The forum brought together chief legal advisers and senior legal officials to exchange perspectives on emerging issues surrounding international investment disputes and the evolving legal landscape affecting States.
During the dinner, the Thai delegation and Ambassador Damrongmanee exchanged views on key issues to be addressed at CLAF 2026. Discussions also highlighted Thailand’s legal perspectives and priorities in international law, including the role of the Office of the Attorney General in providing legal advice and supporting the country in international legal matters.
Particular attention was given to investor-State dispute settlement, an area of growing importance amid evolving international investment relations. The discussions provided an opportunity to share perspectives on legal developments and the roles and responsibilities of relevant institutions in addressing complex international disputes.
The dinner also covered key policy developments in Thailand and Singapore, with both sides exploring opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between relevant agencies of the two countries. The engagement underscored the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration in advancing legal and institutional ties between Thailand and Singapore.
