
Health cooperation, professional training and emergency preparedness shaped the bilateral meeting.
H.E. Dr. Uyanga Ganbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Singapore, met Singapore’s Minister for Health Mr. Ong Ye Kung on 31 August 2026 to discuss cooperation in the health sector.
Ambassador Uyanga thanked Singapore for supporting the training of Mongolian nurses and healthcare professionals with assistance from Temasek Foundation. Following the positive experience, she proposed further cooperation in public health, communicable disease control and prevention, professional training and institutional capacity-building.
Minister Ong introduced Singapore’s newly established Communicable Diseases Agency and expressed openness to exploring training opportunities and the exchange of expertise. The two sides also discussed lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic and preparedness for future public health emergencies.
The meeting also touched on people-to-people ties, direct air connectivity and tourism. Ambassador Uyanga invited Minister Ong to visit Mongolia and experience the country’s natural landscape, nomadic heritage and culture.
