Malaysia and Singapore discussed bilateral relations and regional integration ahead of ASEAN Chairmanship.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia, Her Excellency Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, paid an introductory call on Mr Albert Chua, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore. The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on progress in Malaysia-Singapore bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
During the meeting, Malaysia expressed its support for Singapore’s preparations for the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027. Both sides also discussed aspects of regional integration within ASEAN that could be pursued further in the future.
The engagement covered developments in bilateral relations between Malaysia and Singapore, as well as areas of shared interest within the ASEAN framework. The discussions reflected the two countries’ continued engagement on regional matters as Singapore prepares to assume the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2027.
