A delegation from the Party Committee of Central Party Agencies of Vietnam visited Singapore from 12 to 16 October 2026 to promote exchanges through the party-to-party channel as part of its 2026 external relations programme. Led by Mr. Nguyen Long Hai, member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the committee, the delegation held working sessions with Singaporean political representatives and visited institutions involved in governance, education and economic and digital transformation.

During the five-day visit, the delegation met Mr. Desmond Choo, a member of the Central Executive Committee of Singapore’s People’s Action Party (PAP) and Minister of State for Defence, as well as Singaporean Member of Parliament Mr. Lee Hong Chuang. The meetings provided opportunities for engagement between representatives of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Singapore’s ruling party.

The programme also included a visit to the PAP headquarters, where the delegation gained an opportunity to engage with the organisation responsible for Singapore’s governing party. The party-to-party channel served as the central focus of the delegation’s political engagements during its stay in Singapore.

Beyond political meetings, the delegation visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the Chandler Institute of Governance. These visits extended the programme to institutions associated with higher education and governance, alongside the delegation’s engagement with Singaporean political representatives.

The Vietnamese delegation also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, maintaining a connection with Vietnam’s diplomatic representation during the official trip. Additional visits to economic and digital transformation facilities provided further opportunities to learn about developments in these areas.
