Wajda Anew (Wajda na nowo), a book by Andrzej Pągowski, has found its place in the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Library, where it will be accessible to the wider university community.

The publication is intended to bring students and faculty closer to the life, work and artistic legacy of Andrzej Wajda, one of Poland’s most celebrated film directors, whose work also holds a special place in French cinema.

Wajda’s Man of Iron (Człowiek z żelaza) won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1981. Danton (1983), a French-Polish co-production, explored the French Revolution in a way that resonated with the political realities of Poland at the time.

It is hoped that the book will inspire the NTU community to discover or revisit the work of a filmmaker whose stories transcended borders and connected cultures.
