Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has invited His Excellency Pham Minh Chinh to pay an official visit to Singapore from February 8–10, 2023. This is Prime Minister Chinh’s first official visit to Singapore, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Vietnam and the 10th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership.
Prime Minister Chinh is accompanied by his wife, Mdm Le Thi Bich Tran, as well as Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, senior officials, and a business delegation.
On February 9, 2023, a formal welcome will be given to Prime Minister Chinh at the Istana. He will meet with President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee, both of whom will host an official lunch in his honor. The signing of bilateral agreements between Singapore and Vietnam, particularly in the digital and green economies, will be witnessed by both prime ministers and will serve to further strengthen the two countries’ extensive cooperation. Prime Minister Chinh will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean, and Parliament Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin.
A new orchid hybrid will be named after Prime Minister Chinh and his wife, Mdm Le Thi Bich Tran. He also intends to visit the Smart Nation CityScape exhibition.
