Drilling operations start at Mingbulak deposit in Namangan region

Drilling operations have started in Namangan region, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures on implementation of investment project for exploration and development of Mingbulak deposit”.

The goal of the project is to provide oil production up to 200 thousand tons per annum using the most modern technologies. It is also planned to drill four new exploration wells.

In April 2007, Uzbekneftegaz and CNPC signed an Agreement on main principles of cooperation on joint exploration and development of Mingbulak deposit. In 2008, in order to increase the production of hydrocarbons, attract foreign investment and modern technologies for efficient exploration and development of Mingbulak deposit in Namangan region, Uzbekneftegaz and Chinese CNPC signed an agreement to establish a joint venture. In the framework of this project, it is planned to organise 136 new jobs.
