Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium
On July 18, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is on a visit to Brussels, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reynders.
The parties discussed in details the topical issues of further development and deepening of bilateral ties in such areas as political and inter-parliamentary contacts, mutual trade, cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
It was noted that over the 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, a considerable amount of experience in mutually beneficial cooperation has been gained. In particular, the current mechanism of regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries allows for a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the state of interaction, the identification of the most promising areas of interest to both sides.
As emphasized in the conversation, the Strategy of Action adopted in Uzbekistan on five priority directions of the country’s development in 2017-2021 opens new opportunities for developing Uzbek-Belgian relations in various fields and giving them a multifaceted character.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on some international and regional issues.
