LOT Polish Airlines launched its new thrice weekly air service to Poland at a posh gala event on 17th May 2018. The colonial heritage setting of the Supreme Court Terrace of the Singapore National Gallery lent itself fabulously as guests from the Polish and Singapore governments, members of the aerospace, travel and diplomatic communities were welcomed by the Ambassador of Poland, Singapore HE Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz to the launch event.
At the gala night launch Singapore was represented by Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Singapore’s Co-ordinating Minister for Infrastructure Minister for Transport
The Polish government delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and National Heritage Prof. Piotr Gliński. He was here on a working visit from 16 to 18th May 2018 to commemorate the direct flights between the two countries and during his visit he met his Singapore counterpart DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam who is also the Co-ordinating Minister for Economic & Social Policies and Ms Grace Fu, the Minister of Culture, Communiity and Youth. Accompanying the Polish DPM was the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure, Tadeusz Kościński. The leaders had discussed prospects for deepening economic, political and cultural cooperation with Singapore.
