Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, H.E. Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. was in Singapore for a working visit where he also met Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan who hosted Secretary Locsin to breakfast. They reaffirmed the excellent and longstanding relations between Singapore and the Philippines, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2019. They noted the flourishing people-to-people ties between the two countries, and looked forward to the restoration of travel links once the COVID-19 situation has eased. They also discussed ways to enhance existing bilateral cooperation in the areas of security and defense, and education.

Earlier during his visit Secretary Teodoro Locsin on 28th January inaugurated the first Philippine ePassport Renewal Center (PaRC) in Singapore. He was assisted by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido J. Dulay and Philippine Ambassador Joseph del Mar Yap in the unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony at PaRC-Singapore office located at 79 Anson Road #15-02. PaRC is an initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), through the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, in partnership with VFS Global Pte. Ltd.
