Singapore’s largest-ever delegation, led by IMDA, impresses at MIPCOM 2023 with over 80 Made-with-Singapore content titles and 700 hours of compelling stories.

Singapore made a significant impact at the 2023 Marché International des Programmes de Communication (MIPCOM) with its largest-ever delegation, showcasing more than 80 pieces of Made-with-Singapore content. Led by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the delegation brought over 700 hours of content from more than 30 Singapore-based media companies to the global market at MIPCOM. The event, held in Cannes, France from 16 to 19 October, is renowned as the world’s largest entertainment trade event for television, digital, and content.

IMDA hosted a Singapore Pavilion at the event, offering a platform for Singapore’s media companies to exhibit their high-quality content to international commissioners and producers. The event also featured industry sharing sessions and networking opportunities for potential buyers to explore Singapore’s growing content production industry and connect with key industry players.

The Largest-Ever Singapore Delegation included over 30 of Singapore’s foremost media companies, demonstrating the rich creative talent and original intellectual properties (IPs) that Singapore has to offer. Attendees at MIPCOM 2023 had access to over 80 pieces of Made-with-Singapore Content, showcasing a diverse array of high-quality content that catered to a wide range of genres and audiences.

One of the highlights of the event was the “Singapore Hour” held at the Singapore Pavilion on 16 and 17 October at 3.30 PM CET. Attendees gained valuable insights into the evolving landscape of content creation, distribution, and global expansion while networking and hearing from industry players like Empire of Arkadia, IFA Media, Ochre Pictures, Rock Entertainment, and The O4 Company. The event delved into topics relevant to the region, providing opportunities to engage with Singapore’s media industry leaders and companies for potential partnerships and discussions on upcoming projects.

Additionally, Singapore’s delegation made key industry announcements and updates at the Singapore Pavilion, including deals by IFA Media, Ochre Pictures, The Moving Visuals Co., Beach House Pictures, Mediacorp, and Protagonist by M.

Mr. Justin Ang, Assistant Chief Executive for Media, Innovation, Communications, and Marketing at IMDA, expressed his enthusiasm about Singapore’s presence at MIPCOM, stating, “This has been an incredible year for Singapore’s media and entertainment industry. We started with the Cannes Film Festival where three Made-with-Singapore films were premiered, and now, we are back in Cannes for MIPCOM leading the largest-ever Singapore delegation. We look forward to showcase Singapore as a hub for content creation and distribution, and for partners all over the world to collaborate with our Singapore talent and companies.”

Ms. Khim Loh, President of AIPRO, highlighted the significance of the largest Singaporean delegation, saying, “MIPCOM has been an important event that allows Singaporean companies to showcase our local content as well as connect with international players. It is heartening to have the largest Singaporean delegation representing the tiny red dot at this arena. This indicates the ever-growing landscape in Singapore and the potential for Singaporean companies to explore beyond boundaries. Our members attending are proud to be part of the delegation.”
