Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Swachhata (Cleanliness) campaign in 2014. On 14th September the latest phase Special Campaign 3.0 ws launched that saw Indian Ministries/ Departments identifying and implementing tasks including the Ministry of External Affairs across its global offices
INDIA’S Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has initiated the Special Campaign 3.0, emphasizing Swachhata (cleanliness) within its offices located worldwide. It started on 2nd October 2023 and is scheduled to run until 31st October 2023. Key objectives of the campaign encompass the efficient handling of public grievances, addressing references from Members of Parliament, fulfilling Parliament Assurances, executing cleanliness drives, and ensuring proper disposal of scrap while streamlining file management.
This initiative has garnered robust participation from MEA’s offices and officials, including Regional Passport Offices, Indian Missions/Posts abroad, Branch Secretariats, and subordinate offices in India. From October 2 to 15, 2023, the Ministry has organized 415 cleanliness drives. A total of 139,953 physical files underwent review, leading to the disposal of 58,383 redundant ones. Additionally, 578 electronic files were successfully closed, resulting in the reclamation of approximately 11,644 square feet of space previously occupied by outdated materials. Furthermore, 352 public grievances have been addressed, and 108 PMO (Prime Minister’s Office) references have been efficiently handled.
MEA has also leveraged social media platforms to engage with the public, showcasing its endeavors during Special Campaign 3.0 and amplifying awareness through its official channels.
All offices under the purview of the Ministry are actively participating in Special Campaign 3.0, demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving the predefined targets established during the preparatory phase.
