The 7th art exhibition under the Philippine Embassy’s ART Trek 15, “Shades of the Wind,” showcases the diverse perspectives of nine Filipino visual artists, exploring the role of color in shaping self, identity, and culture.
Singapore, 21 November 2023 – The Philippine Embassy’s ART Trek 15 continues to enchant art enthusiasts with its 7th art exhibition and 5th Embassy-hosted exhibit titled, “Shades of the Wind.” This captivating showcase, presented by One East Asia, unfolded on 10 November 2023, featuring the creations of nine talented Filipino visual artists.
The exhibition, held in Singapore, highlights the works of Emman Cardeño, Mark Rocha Padernal, Martin Maturan, A.R. Manalo, Ezekiel Fajardo, Reyna Raymunda, Demi Padua, iSko Andrade, and Welbart Slowhands. Comprising 16 pieces, “Shades of the Wind” delves into the fascinating world of color as a medium for contemplation on self, identity, and culture.
Each artwork offers a unique perspective, with the artists examining the concept of self through the exploration of various hues and artistic techniques. This introspection extends to the role of appearances, encompassing both the physical and the expression through clothing, in shaping identity. The reflections presented in the exhibition resonate not only at a personal level but also extend to relationships with others and contribute to a broader understanding of cultural changes within the Philippines and across the Pan-Asian community.
Five of the featured artists—Demi Padua, iSko Andrade, Ezekiel Fajardo, Reyna Raymunda, and Welbart Slowhands—were also part of the Sentro Rizal London’s exhibition, “Dancing with Glory,” in October, further extending the reach of their artistic endeavors.
ART Trek, spearheaded by the Philippine Embassy, has become a prominent fixture in Singapore’s cultural landscape.
