The 10th Singapore Media Festival, hosted by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), will feature an array of programs celebrating Asia’s media industry, with a focus on innovation, new media skills, and content creation.
The Singapore Media Festival (SMF) is set to mark its 10th edition from November 30 to December 10, 2023, offering 11 days of immersive experiences in Asia’s media industry. Hosted by IMDA, the festival will showcase programs from the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF), Singapore Comic Con (SGCC), and the new addition, Nas Summit Asia.
The festival, expected to draw over 50,000 attendees, will serve as a platform for media professionals, content creators, and consumers from Asia and around the world to converge, fostering new connections and content creation. Over 100 of the region’s top films will be featured, highlighting the best in pop culture, television, and new media.
Celebrating the theme “Make It Here,” the festival has played a pivotal role in Asia’s media landscape over the past decade, generating S$3.04 billion (US$2.23 billion) in deals and partnerships. Notable projects born from the festival include the Hollywood blockbuster Crazy Rich Asians, underscoring its impact on discovering and nurturing media talents across Asia.
Mr. Justin Ang, Assistant Chief Executive for Media, Innovation, Communications, and Marketing at IMDA, emphasized the festival’s ongoing commitment to shaping the industry’s future amid evolving trends and technologies.
