14th Conventions India Conclave Sets the Stage for Economic Empowerment through Sustainable MICE, Anticipates Global Collaboration from 7 to 9 December

Gandhinagar: The Tourism Corporation of Gujarat (TCGL) and India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) jointly inaugurate the 14th Conventions India Conclave (CIC) at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. This three-day event, running from December 7 to 9, serves as a prologue to the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. With the theme “Sustainable MICE: Empowering Event Towards the $5 Trillion Economy,” the conclave aims to foster international collaboration and discussions on sustainable practices in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).

Notably, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, graced the occasion, underscoring the state’s commitment to the success of the event. In his insightful speech, Chief Minister Patel highlighted the significance of the 14th India Convention India Conclave, organized by the Indian Association of Convention Industry (IACCI), as a landmark event for the MICE industry.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized that hosting large-scale conferences benefits the entire ecosystem economically and socially, citing the current worldwide value of the MICE industry at around $800 billion. India’s current contribution is less than 1%, and the industry contributes about 0.2% to GDP, with a mere 0.02% in India. He stressed the importance of focusing on the MICE industry, given its potential economic and employment impact.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is emerging as a global destination, with recent infrastructure developments such as Bharat Mandap and Yashobhumi showcased during the G20 summit in Delhi. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel proudly stated that Gujarat, under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, has become a premier choice for MICE, hosting national and international events.

Highlighting the successful hosting of over 17 G20 meetings on adventure, medical, and green tourism, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized Gujarat’s tourism potential on the global stage. Inspired by Prime Minister Modi, Gujarat has maintained a tradition of successfully hosting large-scale events for the past two decades.

In a significant move towards boosting the MICE industry, Chief Minister Patel announced the signing of 15 MoUs related to the tourism sector. He expressed gratitude to the India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICCB) for playing a vital role in advancing the MICE industry in the right direction.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel concluded by reaffirming the commitment to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of making India a $5 trillion economy. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, he believes that the MICE industries of India and Gujarat will play a pivotal role in realizing the vision of a developed India by 2047 in the Amrit Kaal of independence.
