The Chinese Embassy in Singapore and the East Asian Institute of the National University of Singapore collaborated to hold a seminar series discussing global changes and China’s role.
THE Chinese Embassy in Singapore, in conjunction with the East Asian Institute of the National University of Singapore, hosted the latest installment of their “Dialogues with Neighbors” seminar series on 7th February 2024. The seminar, titled “China and World in a Time of Profound Changes,” drew more than 100 attendees from local think tanks, media outlets, businesses, and student communities.
During the event, Charge d’Affaires, Mr Zhu, elaborated on the concept of “a community of shared future for mankind,” as highlighted in the recent Central Conference on Work Relating to Foreign Affairs. Professor Alfred Schipke, Director of the East Asian Institute, provided a comprehensive analysis of China’s economic transition and its global implications. Diplomats from the Chinese Embassy and scholars from Singapore engaged in discussions on topics such as “the global south,” China’s neighborhood diplomacy, and global security governance.
The following day, on 8th February 2024, another seminar was jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy and the East Asian Institute, focusing on “China and the World under the Great.” Once again, more than 100 delegates from Singapore attended, including representatives from think tanks, media, businesses, and student groups.
Mr Zhu Wei delved into the concept of building a community of shared future for mankind, while Professor Schipke analyzed China’s economic transformation and its impact. The seminar also featured discussions between embassy diplomats and local academics on topics such as the “Global South,” China’s surrounding diplomacy, and global security governance.
The seminars aim to foster greater understanding and dialogue between China and its neighbors, reflecting the commitment to collaboration and shared interests.
