Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade began his visit to Singapore with a productive working dinner with the President and members of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF)
HUNGARY’S Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Péter Szijjártó, visited Singapore from the 19th to 20th of March 2024 starting with a working dinner hosted by the SMF. It was attended by President Lennon Tan and several other members of the Federation. Discussions during the dinner were described as constructive, focusing on enhancing bilateral trade and investment relations between Hungary and Singapore.
The visit highlights the importance of the bilateral relationship between Hungary and Singapore. Among Southeast Asian countries, Singapore stands out as a key partner for Hungary, with the largest number of investors and the highest trade turnover. Trade between the two countries exceeded S$1 billion dollars last year, indicating the strong economic ties that exist between Hungary and Singapore.
