General Romeo Brawner Jr. makes an introductory visit to Singapore, highlighting the strong defense relations between Singapore and the Philippines.

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, General (GEN) Romeo Brawner Jr., embarked on an introductory visit to Singapore from 17 to 18 April 2024, aimed at reinforcing the robust defense relationship between the two nations.

During his visit, GEN Brawner met with Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Heng Chee How, at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining and enhancing the warm and friendly bilateral defense ties and exchanged views on various global developments.

GEN Brawner also had a meeting with the Chief of Defence Force, Vice Admiral (VADM) Aaron Beng, following an inspection of the Guard of Honour at MINDEF. His itinerary included visits to significant defense facilities, such as the Counter-Terrorism Information Facility and the ADMM Cybersecurity and Information Centre of Excellence at Changi Naval Base, which took place yesterday.

These visits highlight the ongoing cooperation and professional exchanges between the armed forces of Singapore and the Philippines. Regular interactions through visits, professional exchanges, multilateral meetings, and exercises have significantly contributed to enhancing the professionalism and mutual understanding between military personnel from both countries.

GEN Brawner’s visit underscores the importance of strengthened defense relations in addressing common regional and global security challenges, fostering a continued partnership between Singapore and the Philippines.
