The High Commission of Bangladesh in Singapore commemorated the country’s independence with a grand reception attended by dignitaries, diplomats, and the Bangladeshi community.

The High Commission of Bangladesh in Singapore hosted a National Day reception on April 26, 2023, to commemorate the country’s independence from Pakistan in 1971. The event was held at the Holiday Inn and was attended by dignitaries, diplomats, and members of the Bangladeshi community in Singapore.

The reception was inaugurated with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by a moment of silence in memory of the country’s freedom fighters. High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Singapore, H.E. Mr. Md Tauhedul Islam, delivered a speech highlighting the country’s progress and achievements over the past five decades.

Guests were treated to a cultural program featuring traditional Bangladeshi music and dance performances. The event also included a photo exhibition showcasing the country’s history and development.

The reception was attended by over 200 guests, including representatives from the Singaporean government, business leaders, and members of the expatriate community. The event served as a celebration of Bangladesh’s rich culture and heritage, as well as its strong diplomatic relations with Singapore.
