The trio of organizations signs a Memorandum of Understanding to elevate Marina Bay into a premier lifestyle and business hub, aiming to enhance visitorship and engagement.
On May 10, 2024, Marina Bay Sands, United Overseas Bank (UOB), and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) have entered into a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reinforcing their collaborative efforts to promote the Marina Bay precinct as a top-tier lifestyle and business destination. This partnership follows a successful initial collaboration earlier this year, which brought vibrant events and exclusive experiences to the area.
The agreement was signed during the STB’s Tourism Industry Conference at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre. It was witnessed by dignitaries including Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Grace Fu. The signatories aim to build on the positive momentum from their previous initiatives, which saw significant increases in visitor arrivals and tourism spending in the first quarter of 2024.
This next phase of partnership will continue to leverage the unique strengths of each party. Marina Bay Sands will host world-class events such as the anticipated Broadway shows “Hamilton” and “Miss Saigon,” and unveil “The World of Studio Ghibli” at the ArtScience Museum. UOB will enhance the experience with exclusive offers for its cardholders, promoting unique retail, dining, and entertainment options. STB will focus on integrating these offerings into its broader promotional strategies to attract both local and international tourists.
With robust growth in international visitor arrivals reaching 4.4 million in the first quarter of 2024, the partnership is set to capitalize on the upward trend. Activities planned for the coming months include special programming for the Christmas and Chinese New Year festivities, aiming to draw even greater numbers to the Marina Bay area.
