In the lead-up to the Paris 2024 Olympics, Artletics offers a dynamic mix of urban sports and street arts in a cross-cultural celebration at Somerset Skate Park on May 25-26, 2024.

The Embassy of France in Singapore, in collaboration with Art Outreach Singapore, is gearing up for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a unique event called Artletics. This two-day festival, which also marks the finale of the vOilah! France Singapore Festival, is set to transform Somerset Skate Park into a vibrant arena where urban sports and street arts converge. Scheduled for May 25th and 26th, from 4 PM to 10 PM, this event is open to the public without any admission fee.

Artletics is designed to showcase the talents of French and Singaporean artists and athletes through an exciting lineup of activities. This includes urban sports such as skateboarding, BMX, and breaking — sports that will feature in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Artists from both nations will also paint the park live, creating a kinetic tapestry that reflects the energetic essence of both cultures.

Key Event Highlights:

  • Visual Artistry: Artists like Elsa Martino from France and Simpleproblembeings from Singapore will captivate attendees with live mural painting and interactive art installations.
  • Athletic Displays: Athletes including Max Berguin, the 2023 France Street Skateboard Champion, will demonstrate their prowess in urban sports.
  • Interactive Workshops: The event will offer workshops allowing the public to interact with both artists and athletes, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of their crafts.
  • Evening Entertainment: The park will pulse with energy during evening rave sessions led by Singaporean DJs Kiat and Intriguant.

Ambassador of France to Singapore, Her Excellency Minh-di Tang, highlighted that Artletics is more than a celebration of sports and arts; it’s a platform for cultural exchange that embodies the spirit of the Olympics, promoting creativity, excellence, and teamwork.

This exciting blend of art and athletics not only enriches the cultural tapestry of Singapore but also strengthens the ties between France and Singapore, showcasing their shared values and passions.
