A United States Senate Congressional delegation (CODEL), led by Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-Illinois) and Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), along with a United States House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) delegation, led by HFAC Chair Representative Michael McCaul (R-Texas) and Ranking Member Representative Gregory Meeks (D-New York), visited Singapore from 31 May to 2 June 2024. The delegations attended the 2024 Shangri-La Dialogue and held separate meetings with key Singaporean officials.
The Congressional delegations had separate calls on Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, Minister for Defence Dr. Ng Eng Hen, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan. During these meetings, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding and robust relationship between Singapore and the United States, particularly in the areas of defense, security, trade, and investment.
