The Phuket Food Festival “A Taste of Phuket” launched on 12 July 2024, with H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, as the Guest-of-Honour.
On 12 July 2024, H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, attended the opening ceremony of the Phuket Food Festival “A Taste of Phuket” at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy as the Guest-of-Honour. In her opening remarks, the Ambassador emphasized the significance of Thai cuisine in fostering cultural connections worldwide and noted the Peranakan influence on these vibrant and delicious dishes.
The event also saw Chef Sathaporn Boonmeechai from Noku Phuket presenting the authentic flavors of Phuket to Singapore. The Ambassador extended her congratulations to Chef Sathaporn for his contributions to the festival. Additionally, guests were treated to a captivating “Tarikipas” dance performance by the Thai Dance Society, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Southern Thailand.
The Phuket Food Festival will run from 12-28 July 2024 at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy. Visitors are encouraged to book early to ensure they don’t miss out on this unique culinary experience, which promises to be a delightful journey through the tastes and traditions of Phuket.
