On behalf of 1.4 billion Indians, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a historic speech at the United Nations’ Summit of the Future on September 22nd, 2024. In his address, Modi highlighted the need for global peace, a human-centric approach, and comprehensive multilateral reforms to meet the evolving challenges of the modern world.
PM Modi called for prioritising human welfare alongside sustainable development, stressing the importance of food and health security. He emphasised that humanity’s success lies in collective strength, achieved through dialogue and diplomacy rather than conflict. Modi further pointed out that terrorism remains a serious threat to global peace and called for reforms in global institutions to remain relevant in addressing such challenges.
He also underscored the emerging areas of cyber, maritime, and space as potential conflict zones, urging global action to match global ambition. Modi advocated for robust global digital governance that respects national sovereignty and integrity, offering India’s digital public infrastructure as a model for the world.
Modi reiterated India’s commitment to the principles of “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” promising that India will continue to work for the protection of human rights and global prosperity.
