Singapore, 28 September 2024 – Scoot, the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines, revealed plans to increase flight frequencies to several destinations in response to anticipated higher demand during the Northern Winter season. Starting in November 2024, Scoot will add extra weekly flights to Chiang Mai and Hanoi, with services growing from 10 to 11 times and five to six times weekly, respectively.

By December 2024, Scoot will also increase services to Perth from 13 to 14 times weekly, while flights to Melbourne will rise from 12 to 13 times weekly, before reaching twice-daily services by January 2025. Additionally, three more weekly flights will be added to Seoul (Incheon) via Taipei, making it a daily service, while flights to Tokyo (Narita) via Taipei will increase to 14 times weekly.

In Southeast Asia, destinations such as Davao, Balikpapan, and Makassar will see additional flights operated by Scoot’s Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Davao’s services will rise from seven to nine times weekly, while Balikpapan and Makassar will both increase from three to four times weekly. Scoot also launched daily flights to Subang, Malaysia, on 1 September 2024, with upcoming services to Kertajati in Indonesia and Malacca, Malaysia, set to begin in late September and October 2024, respectively.

However, in line with its network optimisation efforts, Scoot will be suspending its service to Ningbo, with the final flight scheduled for 26 October 2024. Scoot’s Chief Commercial Officer, Calvin Chan, stated, “We are excited to offer more flights to destinations like Australia, Japan, and South Korea to meet growing demand during the festive season.
